One Day at a Time
Sep 24, 2002
I am a 39 year old mother of a happy, healthy 16 year boy from my first marriage. I have been in my 2nd marriage for almost a year now and am married to the most wonderful man ever. Prior to us getting married, we found out we were pregnant and were so excited with the news. At 21 weeks, though, we lost our precious boy, Daniel, to a stillbirth which the doctor's said was due to me having several fibroids. Losing a child is the most difficult thing to ever go through and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. 4 months after this loss I had a myomectomy to remove the fibroids. We then became pregnant again 5 months after my surgery and at 12 weeks suffered a miscarriage "blighted ovum". As difficult as this news was to hear we feel that it's better now than later, as we've experienced, but the pain of the loss is still very strong. I am once again facing all the negatives (why/blame/failure, etc.)and yet my husband is such a source of strength and support to help me/us through this. We do have faith and believe that God never gives us more than we can handle. He will heal us and watch over us and we will try again for another baby and trust that God will bless us with the child we are so wanting. To everyone who has experienced any loss, take one day at a time and know that you are not alone. Many blessings to you all.
Debbie
