I wonder what it would be like
if you were here today
if you'd only won the fight
maybe you could have stayed
Each day I find regret
each night I search for peace
I know the Maker you have met
to God, my burden I release
I know He holds you now
how precious to Him you must be
at His feet I'll someday bow
and thank Him graciously
For the time He gave so lovingly
sparing all the aching cries
