My Very Own Angel
Sep 11, 2002
At the beginning of March I went into labor early and I started to dialate. They were able to stop my labor and after two and a half hours of surgery they were able to close my cervix. The day that I was going home my water broke so I had to stay at the hospital on bedrest. After three weeks they told my that things were going fine and that water was still around the baby. That night the cord prolapsed. And they had to do an emergancy c-section. Unforunatly I was only 24 weeks along and the doctors told me that I would be lucky if baby would make it for an hour. When I came to they told me that I had a little boy who we named Cody. He wieghed 1lb 1 oz and was 11 inches long. They let me see me baby he was so sweet and tiny but he was mine. My baby made it through the night and the next morning they told me I should think about freezing my milk. My boyfriend and I spent all moring and afternoon with our little boy. Then my boyfriend had to run home. I went back up to sit with Cody and that is when they told me that his lungs were filling up with blood and that there was nothing left that they could do. I called my boyfriend and he hurried back. For the last hour of our baby's life we got to hold him and kiss him and tell him that we loved him. And then I held my baby as he went back to his maker. Just as sweet as he had come into my life he left again. After all that had happened I find joy in knowing that I have my very own angel in heaven waiting for my boyfriend and I.
