Today I Will Not Weep

Today I will not weep.
I will look for signs of God.
There is beauty all around me.
How can my heart be sad?
Each day the pain softens
And hope is seen once again.
I reach to grasp the promise
My heart begins to sing.
So many dark days have been my companion.
Endless nights brought me only pain.
Daylight looms on the horizon.
Maybe soon I can feel the suns' rays.
Death left my heart so shattered.
It will take so long to mend.
With God I can begin to see promise
Of living life once again.
Today I will not weep.
I will look for moments of beauty.
Today I will see hope
And will thank God once again.
