Never the Same

Never the Same
LindaC
A hollow feeling deep in your stomach
A sorrow that pervades the very depth of your being
The pain of losing a child is unlike anything ever experienced
Your soul becomes painted with a pallette of gloom and despair
Your life changes overnight
At first it seems so unreal
It is like looking in from the outside
And watching yourself steeped in pain
You go through the motions
You try to be strong
But your heart quietly breaks in two
Nothing will ever erase the pain you feel, it is too new
Life is now gone through in a trance
The ability to cope is gone
Tears appear unbidden
And silently we scream inside
Loss of a child is like a whirlpool
From which there is no escape
Grief swirls in waves around you
And your life will never be the same again
