A Life Gone

A Life Gone
LindaC
A life taken away
He was only 30
So much talent
Never recognized
Music was a major gift
He could play anything he heard
Poetry, he had a gift for expression
Though many would not understand what he wrote
So much talent that was wasted
Bad life choices, It won't happen to me
I can quit using when I want, not a problem
Yet the drugs had him secure in their grasp
It was a day like many before
Who would know it would be his last
Heroin coursing through his veins
Death, a tragic waste of a life
He had a child, the love of his life
She was everything to him
For her he wanted to get clean
It was not meant to be.
