The Happiest Time of My Life

The Happiest Time of My Life

All of those who saw me,
Said they never knew before,
One so happy and content,
With so much love and more.

But I had never been more thrilled,
With thoughts of carrying you,
To deliver a new baby,
Those 7 months, I wish I knew.

The joy inside my heart,
Had never be so strong,
How could it have happened?
Where did I go wrong?

"Don't ask", they said, "There's nothing that,
You did or didn't do",
We don't know why it happens,
It's just something sad, but true".

I can't question our Creator,
I love God just the same,
And maybe more for giving me,
Your life, for Him to claim.

Just 8 weeks of promise,
2 months of sheer surprise,
I'll never know your smile,
Or the color of your eyes.

I look above for strength,
and to Life, for someday when,
We'll meet again and I will hold,
You in my arms again.
