A Secluded Heart

A Secluded Heart
LindaC

My heart is in seclusion
So very shut off from the world.
Coldness pinches my woeful heart
And grief gets a foothold yet again.

I can see around the bend
Hope for a brighter tomorrow.
Depair will ease into acceptance
And that will free me from pain.

I rehash moments of my life.
Days of happier times
How did I get to this desolate shore?
How does one start to live once again?

Each day I take one step at a time.
Progress is ever so slow.
But each day I come just a little closer
To living my life once again.
